Mystery House is located in the old cinema of the town of Valkenburg. After the theatre closed its doors in 1987, the cinema fell into disrepair. Early 2015, two creative souls decided that the dust-filled property would be the perfect place to build mysterious escape rooms. Mystery House Valkenburg does not only distinguishes itself with the amount of detail in the escape rooms. The 70s are back!

Once you cross the threshold of Mystery House Valkenburg, it will feel like you stepped into the swinging 70s. The original elements of the cinema have been preserved, the old record player plays the sounds of the seventies and grandfather’s rocking chair quietly stands in the corner. Take a seat in the lobby for a nice drink or a game of pong!

A mysterious history...

The peculiar concierge Egidius Theodore Lumière lived for ‘his’ cinema in the heart of Valkenburg. He had always wanted a job in the cinema, and protected it with his life. But his dream became a nightmare. There were almost no visitors and his beloved cinema slowly went into decay. The sudden death of the director in 1987 was the end for the cinema, and for the dream of the devoted Egidius. Broken and tormented he stayed behind. No one ever saw him outside again … And he does not seem to look forward to seeing anyone now…
